CTIA is the International Association for the Wireless Telecommunications Industry, Dedicated to Expanding the Wireless Frontier

The FCC has designated CTIA-The Wireless Association® to act as a clearinghouse to facilitate the relocation of incumbent licensees now that the 2006 Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) auction is complete.

To ensure the independence and neutrality of its clearinghouse, CTIA has established a new entity, the CTIA Spectrum Clearinghouse, LLC, to serve as the non-profit cost-sharing clearinghouse.

The CTIA Spectrum Clearinghouse, LLC is committed to administering the cost-sharing functions for relocation of Broadband Radio Service (BRS) and Fixed Microwave Service (FS) incumbents from the 2.1 GHz band on a fair and equitable basis.

Video Cross-Carrier Interoperability

Requirements and Best Practice Recommendations for Network-to-Network Interface and Client Implementations

The "Video Cross-Carrier Interoperability" document outlines the Industry level Requirements and Best Practices and Recommendations for Network-to-Network Interface and Client Implementation that would allow for cross-carrier support of Video calls.

This is written considering:

  1. This document covers requirements for IP services provided by 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi technologies
  2. The mandatory identity for video call interoperability is MSISDN/ MDN/Tel URI
  3. Technology to realize the proposed requirements is SIP based
  4. Media will be transported using RTP/ RTCP over UDP
  5. P2P means: Point to Point (above Peer to Peer)

Also:

  1. NNI – Network to Network Interface is the focus of all the delivery discussion and for which this group gives Requirements.
  2. Client level – Device interface is shared as Best Practices and for which this group gives strong Recommendations.
