Wireless AMBER Alerts
The wireless industry has always recognized the vital role it plays regarding public safety, and now you can use this powerful technology to possibly help recover an abducted child. Wireless AMBER Alerts are free text messages available to wireless subscribers, and are the result of a partnership between the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the wireless industry.

Past experience shows that time is of the essence when a child is abducted, and by signing up to receive free Wireless AMBER Alerts, you can be the eyes and ears that public safety officials vitally need when a child is abducted.

How does it Work?
Sign up to receive Wireless AMBER Alerts at www.wirelessamberalerts.org or at your wireless carrier’s website. You can sign up to receive the text message when an alert has been issued for a specific area. The text message will include vital information: a description of the alleged abductor and their vehicle; it’s make, model and license plate number; the age and description of the alleged abducted child or children; and a contact phone number.

New Spanish Language Enrollment Site
Visitors to www.wirelessamberalerts.org now have the option to select a Spanish Language version by choosing the “En Español” button in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage.  The Spanish language site provides consumers with all the information about the program available in English, and provides an opt-in menu in Spanish as well.  To comply with recently-adopted FCC guidelines for emergency alerts, the actual AMBER Alerts sent to wireless phones will continue to be in English, not Spanish.

The wireless industry is proud to offer subscribers an extraordinary opportunity to assist law enforcement by possibly making the wireless connection of a lifetime…and helping reunite parents with abducted children.
