CTIA-The Wireless Association® Statement on Department of Transportation’s Model Legislation for States to Ban Manual Texting While Driving

WASHINGTON, DC Today, CTIA-The Wireless Association® President and CEO Steve Largent issued the following statement in response to the Department of Transportation’s release of model legislation for states that would ban manual texting while driving:

"CTIA and the wireless industry were pleased to collaborate with the Department of Transportation to develop the model legislation for states that would ban manual texting while driving.  For more than twelve years, the wireless industry has been focused on educating consumers about the dangers of distracted driving and we remain committed to reminding drivers that safety should always be their number one priority.”
