September 2, 2008

CTIA WIRELESS® & CTIA WIRELESS I.T. and Entertainment® both recognized for continued growth

Washington, D.C. – CTIA–The Wireless Association’s two annual conventions, CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment® and CTIA WIRELESS®, have both been recognized by Tradeshow Week (TSW) as two of the fastest 50 growing shows in North America. The annual TSW Fastest 50 award recognizes those shows that have experienced the greatest growth in sold exhibit space over the past three years.

CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008® takes place next week, September 10-12 at Moscone West in San Francisco. CTIA WIRELESS 2009® will take place April 1-3, 2009 in Las Vegas.

“We received a record-breaking number of nominations this year and CTIA continues to impress us with its increasing number of exhibitors and floor space year to year,” said Tradeshow Week’s Editor-in-Chief Michael Hart. “The fact that so many shows continue to grow is a testament to the health of the tradeshow industry and the value of face-to-face marketing.”

Tradeshows recognized during the TSW Fastest 50 event this fall represent a broad array of industries, from online retailing and advertising to technology, wind power and livestock.

“The converged world of wireless and the Internet is an explosive marketplace rich in opportunities,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA. “This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first cellular phone call ever made, and to commemorate this occasion with two Fastest 50 awards for growth is really incredible. CTIA has been advocating for the wireless industry for more than two decades and we strive to bring the best people and companies in the business to our shows. It’s an honor to be recognized by Tradeshow Week for both of our annual conventions.”

A gala dinner and awards presentation for the TSW Fastest 50 will take place in Baltimore on November 8th, hosted by Carol Costello, CNN News correspondent and contributor to “The Situation Room.” For more information, visit www.tswfastest50.com.
